Then, in 1993, Congress designated the aviary in Pittsburgh as the National Aviary. Since then, the National Aviary has increased in size to 40,000 square feet, making it the largest aviary in the United States. Today, the aviary is home to 600 animals from roughly 200 species.The National Aviary reserves the right to enforce additional restrictions or removal of the animal from National Aviary grounds for any reason, at any time. If a service animal is excluded from National Aviary grounds or a portion of the Aviary grounds, the National Aviary will make reasonable accommodations to permit the guest to continue their visit.
